Congratulations to our Peace Poster winners who received their awards and their monetary winnings at our Dec, '22 meeting.  President Raelene Stanislawski is pictured with Violet Passow (1st) and Maddie Kiral (3rd).  2nd place winner, Autumn Fabian, was not able to attend. 

At our Nov. 7, '22 meeting, Lions District Governor, Susan Althoff showed us a short video from Lions International President, Brian Sheehan, who is from Bird Island, MN (!!).  We viewed it on one of our latest projects, an audio/video system we installed, along with Altura City and Altura Fire/Ambulance.  She explained her experiences as a Lion, and presented chevrons to Lion Mike Lovlien and Lion  Ron Gatzlaff (not pictured) for their 35 years as Lions members.  She also presented an award to Lion Yvonne Ruhoff, Altura Lions Secretary, for her many years of reporting our club news and minutes to our 5M1 District.

At the Oct 3, '22 meeting our guest speaker was Deb Nesbit who spoke on childhood cancer and showed us a blanket project she has been working on to give to children.  We donated to the  MN Childhood Cancer Foundation, of which she is co-chair in our District, and that amount will be matched if we have a child diagnosed with cancer in our area.  In the foreground is Pat Schlichenmeyer, an Altura Lion who is the Zone 1 Chair in our district.
