NOVEMBER 2025  OFFICIAL MINUTES OF REGULAR CLUB MEETING

The regular meeting of the _____Altura____________________ Lions Club was called to order on Monday, November 3, 2025                                  by President Bridget Gibbs_______________

at ___6:30 p.m. at the ___Taqueria el Lunar  with those members in attendance as shown on the Attendance Record and Guest Register.

President Bridget Gibbs called the meeting to order with the pledge of allegiance. 

Phil Schwantz made a motion to approve the agenda, Nathan Gibbs seconded, motion carried.

The secretary’s report of the meeting of October 6, 2025 was read.  Cheryl Lovlien made a motion to approve, Mike Lovlien seconded, motion carried.

The treasurer’s report was read.  Joe Schlichenmeyer made a motion to approve, Dale Moger seconded, motion carried.

Administrative: $1588.23

Medical Account $2193.01

Regular Account: $11,902.77                       Total: $15,684.07

Old Business:

One mile of the roadside cleanup was accomplished October 8.  The Boy Scouts have not had an opportunity to complete their portion as of this date.

Trunk and Treat went well.  It was a beautiful night.  We had 88 apples and there were none left!

John Steffel suggested we contact Eric Shurson regarding the flag project we are considering as a fund raiser for next year.

New Business:

As there was a mix up with the schools and the Lewiston Lions, we had only 2 peace posters entered this year.  Josiah Menges was first place winner and his brother Jonathan was second.  They will be invited to our December meeting to be presented with their cash prizes.  Sandy Schwantz suggested that our club do the parochial schools and Lewiston do the public school next year.  Mike Lovlien made that a motion, Joe Schlichenmeyer seconded, motion carried.

Mike Lovlien made a motion that if anyone who has not attended the Mid-Winter Convention in the past that the club pay for their registration, and if a spouse attends, the club will pay half.  Steve Pasche seconded, motion carried.

Melvin Jones Fellowship awards were presented to Bridget Gibbs, Peggy Pasche, Marlene Spencer, and David Schwantz. 

Steve Pasche made a motion that we send $500 to LCIF for hurricane Melissa relief efforts and $500 to the St. Charles Food Shelf.  Phil Schwantz seconded, motion carried.  

February 11 has been selected as the date for the spaghetti dinner.  Dale Moger and Nathan Gibbs will apply for Thrivent cards. 

Steve Pasche made a motion that we place a quarter page ad in the Mid-Winter Convention booklet at a cost of $50, Nathan Gibbs seconded, motion carried.  A District Wide Service Project is being planned during the Mid-Winter Convention making health and hygiene kits for shelters, food pantries and residents around the district.  Our club will provide tooth brushes and washcloths.

Zone meeting is November 11 at the Country Club in Lewiston.  In addition to Pat and Joe attending, Mike and Cheryl and Sandy and Phil will plan to attend as well.

There were no medical needs at this time.

Phil Schwantz made a motion to adjourn, John Meisch seconded, motion carried.
