Old Business:
Phil Kalmes reported that putting out the flags for the 4th of July weekend went well with the help of 8 members. He now has a total of 63 households signed up for the program this year. The next holiday will be Labor Day Weekend and the flags will remain up until after 9/11.
One pole had been bent due to a mowing incident and that pole has been marked. It might be something that can be straightened and this can be attempted when putting them back out.
DG Pat Schlichenmeyer spoke briefly about the International Meeting she attended in Hong Kong. Our District is wanting to reinstitute Lions Quest Program and LCI is requesting that the district have a Marketing Person on the Cabinet. Pat also handed out her DG pins to club members in attendance.
New Business:
Everything is set for the Chicken Q on August 8.
The Tri-Club Picnic is at Lewiston August 11 at 6 p.m. at Kwik Trip Park. An e-mail will be sent to members when we learn what our club is to provide.
An email was received from District 5M1 Disaster Relief Chair, Terry Zabel. The purpose is to develop a district-wide network of disaster response resources, coordinate communication between clubs during emergencies, identify available equipment, supplies, and volunteers that may be helpful in the event of a disaster. The form for listing what our club may be able to help with will be sent to each member so they can review and come back next meeting with what we may be able to offer.
Pam Scherbring is currently undergoing treatment for cancer. Steve Pasche made a motion to send her $300, Dave Schwantz seconded, motion carried.
Sheila Harmston is undergoing medical evaluations related to her transplant a number of years ago. Phil Kalmes made a motion that we send her $300, Steve Pasche seconded, motion carried.
