CHARTER LUNCH (our only 'formal' event of the year)
In May we organise a 'Charter Lunch' to celebrate the anniversary of the official formation of our Club in May 1976. This is our only formal event of the year. The original event was a 'dinner dance' but in 2015 changed to a more casual Charter lunch at a local venue. Friends and members of other local Lions Clubs are invited to attend.
It used to be a tradition that some members have composed and recited poems at the lunch (even high ranking Lions guests have also joined in) This still happens from time to time, but less so nowadays.

HANDOVER LUNCH
In July we hold a 'Handover lunch' for the current President to 'hand overer' the reigns to the incoming President. It is a relaxed lunch, usually in someone's garden, with members often bringing delicious homemade dishes to this 'bring and share' event
Here are a few other of the social events we have had with Members and Friends (FoLK)

Some write their own, some read out works by others, some just come to applaud the "talent"! It all made for a very light-hearted evening with supper included. Non-members were encouraged to participate!
At an early "Verse & Even Worse" evening one of our newest members read an excellent poem that she had written about her experiences with our Club - "An Ode to Knutsford Lions"
