The Coon Rapids North Star Lions cordially invite your organization to participate in the City of Coon Rapids annual 4th of July celebration parade being held on Thursday, July 2nd, 2015 at our new location: 11091 Mississippi Boulevard Northwest. The parade line-up will take place on the south side of 111th Avenue on vacant land located at the southwest corner of Mississippi Boulevard and 111th Avenue (the former Cook Ice Arena site). Parking information will be provided in your lineup notification letter.
DATE OF PARADE: Thursday, July 2nd, 2015 – Rain or Shine
LINE UP BEGINS: 4:00 p.m.
KICK OFF TIME: 6:00 p.m.
Parade participants will enter 111th Avenue from Coon Rapids Boulevard – this will be the ONLY entrance parade units can utilize. The roads leading to this area will close at 5:30 p.m. – no admittance to the line-up area will be allowed after that time.
Parade information packets with line-up details will be mailed to all accepted applicants not later than June 15th, 2015.
PARADE PARTICIPATION POLICIES:
Application & Entrance Fees: Complete the parade application in its entirety and return to the address below not later than June 1st, 2015 along with your parade entry fee. All units will pay a $50 entrance fee. Exempt from this policy are visiting royalty floats and bands. If you are requesting a fee to participate in the Coon Rapids parade, please indicate so on your parade application. There is a very limited budget for paid units. The parade committee will consider your request and contact you upon receipt of the entry form. Make checks payable to “Coon Rapids North Star Lions Club”. All fees must accompany application.
Distribution of Materials & Candy Along the Parade Route: Because of safety concerns, NO CANDY, PRINTED MATTER OR MATERIALS OF ANY KIND CAN BE THROWN OR TOSSED FROM FLOATS, VEHICLES OR OTHER PARADE UNITS while on the parade route; these items must be handed out by walkers curbside. Violator’s materials may be confiscated.
Insurance: The Coon Rapids parade committee requires proof of liability insurance before a motorized vehicle will be allowed in the parade. Please include current insurance information with your parade application or sign and return the enclosed Parade Waiver Agreement. This waiver will be for your entire group, it is not necessary to do one for each individual participating in your unit.
There will be ample parking near the lineup area. Parade marshals will be on site monitoring traffic and they will direct you to parking areas after dropping off individuals or setting up floats. Parking information will be provided with your lineup #.
