Description:
The Daily Collection of Used Eyeglasses, Eyeglass Cases, Hearing Aides, Cell Phones and Ink Cartridges throught the Shasta Valley region of Siskiyou County.Used Eyeglasses are collected, repaired, and used in Lions Visions Projects in the US and other countries. Eyeglass Cases are dispursed among other local community groups to hand out to those in need. Used Hearing Aides are collected and sent to Upstate Hearing in Shasta County then They are fixed and dispersed throughout Lions clubs hearing projects in the Lions District 4C1.
Used Ink Cartridges and Cell Phones are collected and recycled for money that help fund the Lions Multiple District Four (California)Student Speaker Foundation Scholaorship Contest.

Medical Equipment Loan Project

Description:
Started in 2020 by the club under the lead of Lions JonMichael Patterson & Mary Smith to offset the need of medical equipment in the community for those who otherwise dont have access to or insurance to cover the costs associated with medical equipment. Also a project that can quickly assist those with short term or loan needs until they get get coverage for equipment.
Community Contributors:
Madrone Hospice Thrift Shop, Rescue Ranch Thrift Shop, Siskiyou Community Food Bank, Yreka Food bank, Disability Action Center, and various private donors.
As of 3/31/24 we have succesfully filled 30 requests by either providing the needed item or a referrel to a organization that had the needed item at the time.

What a vast amount of Lions generate funds go towards, it gives us the ability to help those who have no other options. From eyeglass replacement to full exams and even surgeries (extreme cases). This is the project Lions are built on.

Siskiyou Golden Fair Volunteers

Description:
This project as happened for many years where the club volunteers to take on manning the VIP, Event Grandstand, and Rear Livestock gates for the days of the yearly fair, we also have been the ones on the four wheelers handing out the water when you need it. In 2001 the club was awarded the the SGF's Directors Award for our work. In 2018 our hard work as a club was met with the club being awarded the high honor of the Western Fairs Association Blue Ribbon Award in 2018.
