We serve!

The Woodbury Lions are very active serving the community.  Some of our best known projects are listed below. 

Lion Lois Larimer screens children for KidSight!KidSight & Children's Eye Screening - Every Autumn Lions Club uses specialized equipment to screen children's eyes and their vision.  Lions visit every grammar school and preschool in the county as well as screening eyes at the back to school event, We Care Cannon! 

 

Lion Charlie Brown volunteering at the Red Cross Blood Drive!Red Cross Blood Collection - Six times a year during the odd months on the third Thursday, Lions volunteer and host the American Red Cross for Blood Collection.  Every donation saves several lives!  Our next blood drive dates are below!

White Cane - Lion volunteer asks passersby for spare change donations. Every October Lions stand in the streets of Woodbury at the corners of South Tatum & Main Streets and College & Main Streets collecting spare change from drivers.  One hundred percent of funds collected go directly to White Cane to provide for the visually impaired.

 

V. A. Carnival - In the fall Lions travel to the Alvin C. York V. A. Hospital in Murfreesboro where the provide fun activites for our friends who have served in the Armed Forces.

Veterans' and Christmas Parade - Every November and December the Woodbury Lions Club organizes and hosts parades for the town of Woodbury!  You won't want to miss these fabulous parades!

Youth Drug Essay & Peace Poster Contests - Students at schools in Cannon County are encouraged to submitt essays and posters for these contests.  Winners are awarded cash prizes.  Top winners move on to contests at the district and state levels. 

Daddy & Daughter Princess Ball - Every Spring on the Friday before Easter girls around the county dress up in their finest and are escorted by their fathers, uncles, and grandfathers to this grand event!  What a way to celebrate the men who care for us and their little girls!

In addition to these activities the Woodbury Lions Club also supports the local 4-H, Boy Scouts, and Leo and Lioness Clubs.  They also care for the walking track at Dillon Park and the pavillion at Brown-Spurlock Park.
