The Windsor Locks Lion Club has been serving our community since it was founded in 1942. Some of the ways we do this are:
- Own and manage the Windsor Locks Lions Ambulance, providing emergency services since 1944.
- Sponsors the annual Bradley Road Race, with 775 registered runners in 2024 from 158 different towns and 10 different states.
- Builds Ramps to provide disabled town residents the freedom to leave their homes.
- Collects and recycles Eyeglasses.
- Hosts an annual Comedy Night.
- Participates in the town-wide Trunk or Treat celebration.
- Participates in the Lions International Peace Poster Contest with students 11 to13 years of age.
- Participates in the town wide Food Drive, collecting and sorting food to fill the town’s food pantry.
- Provides Santa Visits to bring Christmas joy to local families in their homes.
- Hosts an annual Special Education Children’s Holiday Party for local students and staff.
- Hosts a Soup Lunch appreciation day for our town workers.
- Performs Pediatric Eye Screenings for youth in Elementary schools.
- Sponsors two Little League Teams in Windsor Locks.
- Sells burgers, dogs and snacks from our Food Truck at Little League Opening Day.
- Hosts the Lions Club President’s Golf Tournament.
- Participates in the annual Windsor Locks Springfest and Art’Ober Festival.
- Provides Scholarships and Awards to Windsor Locks High School seniors.
- Make Financial Contributions to numerous charitable organizations, including:
- Fidelco Guide Dog Foundation
- Lions Low Vision Center
- Connecticut Radio Information System (CRIS)
- Connecticut Lions Eye Research Foundation (CLERF)
