WORDS FROM THE CLUB PRESIDENT
Thank you for visiting our Website…Williamsoncountylionsclub.com
We serve is the Lions Club‘s motto. How? The Sensory Garden for the Blind, which is located off of Manley Lane behind Grassland Elementary School is a garden that we maintain for all to enjoy. A Lion is serving at the Garden almost every Saturday morning. This is when we weed, plant, maintain, and expand the Gardens, trails, trees, greenhouse, and many amenities. Great opportunities for Boy and Girl Scouts to earn their merit badges and for high school students to receive their community service hours. Companies like LSI and Keller Williams have organized work days to “Serve back”.
We also “Serve” by doing pediatric eye screening and eyeglasses donations.
We do a yearly golf tournament that fundraisers for cataract surgeries for Williamson County residents who would not be able to afford the operation on their own.
Lastly, and dear, to my heart, We have the ability to match a leader dog with a Williamson Co. resident who has sight loss.
I invite you to come see how else we “Serve” at our next meeting. We meet every second and fourth Thursday from 8 to 9 am at Keller Williams Realty conference room 9175 Carothers Parkway Suite 110 Franklin TN.

SENSORY GARDEN FOR THE BLIND FUNDRAISER
The Williamson County Lions Club is raising funds to expand their service project, The Sensory Garden for the Blind. The garden is located in Grassland Park in Brentwood, TN.
Sensory gardens entice the five senses and encourage visitors to interact; such as tasting a bit of rosemary, touching the fuzzy leaves of lamb’s ears, or sniffing fragrant lavender.
But, the garden doesn’t only benefit the blind. Sensory gardens benefit everyone—especially those with sensory processing issues—such as autism and dementia.
The next phase will be called the Imagination and Discovery Garden and will be designed for kids ages 1-8. It will include a water feature and a child-size English maze, multiple rock gardens, and several sitting areas.
The project is 100% supported by community donations and fundraisers. Any donations are greatly appreciated and can be mailed to the club mailing address:
