The Whitesburg Lions Club has an annual radio auction, usually the first Monday and Tuesday of December. This year it will be on December 10 and 11th.

Proceeds will go toward the purchase of eyeglasses for needy individuals. providing; eyeglasses, food baskets, college scholarships, and  emergency assistance and  supporting Lions Clubs projects such as, Lions Clubs International Foundation (which has provided disaster relief for Letcher County residents in the past), Kentucky Lions Eye Foundation, Lions Camp-Crescendo, and Leader Dog.
