Our July 8th meeting was held at the Waynesboro Country Club beginning at 6:00 p.m. We filled JARED Boxes for the Waynesboro Hospital Emergency Room. For those of you who are unfamiliar with the JARED Boxes, they are filled with small item to help comfort children who are in need of emergency care.

At last month’s meeting, PDG Joann Williams installed our club officers for this Lions Year. Thanks to all who volunteered to fill the officer’s positions. We are looking forward to a great year! Additionally, the Lion of the Year was awarded to PDG Lee & Lion Sandy Eisenhard for their dedication and service to our club.

Thank you for the many members who volunteered for the Mont Alto Fire Department bingo on Wednesday, June 17 and Thursday, June 18. All-in all we had a good time calling back “winners.”

Our LAST “Who is this Lion” contest was a stumper for the members of the club as no one guessed King Lion Denise. As promised, the first quarter dues for winner Lion Chuck Vickery will be paid by King Lion Denise. I appreciated all who participated in the contest and believe we have learned some little known facts about our fellow Lions.

As you know, I am a District 14-T Board of Director representative of PA Lions Beacon Lodge. This year PA Lions Appreciation Day (PLAD) was held on Sunday, July 19 at Beacon Lodge Camp. Events began at 9:00 am and included a Worship Service, basket raffle, mini golf, duck race, camp tour, On the Hunt, Roar and Recall, Camper Entertainment.
