Waxhaw Lions Serve By:
Providing low income neighbors with eyeglasses and hearing aids
Conducting free adult and pediatric vision screenings in Waxhaw
Arranging free pediatric vision screening for early detection of the Amblyopia risk factors, correctable vision defects and other ocular conditions in children ages six months to six years
Recycling eyeglasses, hearing aids, and printer cartridges for redistribution to individuals in low income regions of the U.S. and underdeveloped countries.
Collecting donations of newborn supplies, children's clothing and household items in support of the Lions Boys and Girls Homes of NC and Turning Point, and delivering craft supplies and handwritten notes for the seniors living at White Oak of Waxhaw.
Sponsoring Visually Impaired People to Camp Dogwood
Camp Dogwood is a wonderful facility on Lake Norman operated by the North Carolina Lions Inc to provide recreation that is safe and enjoyable to visually impaired people (VIP’s). The Waxhaw Lions Club covers the cost of camp fees for Waxhaw area VIP’s attending a week at Camp Dogwood.
