Annual Turkey Dinner
Our Annual Turkey Dinner, usually held the last Thursday of January, is one of our most important fund raising activities. We serve home-cooked turkey dinners with all the trimmings in a relaxed, informal setting. We offer take-outs as well, which is becoming more popular each year.
Sight and Blindness Assistance
Challenged by Helen Keller in 1925 to become "Knights of the Blind in the crusade against darkness," the Lions of the world have dedicated themselves to combating the causes of blindness and helping those with vision impairments. The Warren Lions Club provides eye exams and eyeglasses to those in need, as well as contributing to eye research, camps for the blind, Leader Dogs, eye surgery and many other sight-related initiatives.
Hearing Assistance
The Lions of Warren also provide assistance for the purchase of hearing aids for qualified individuals. An assistance application can be obtained by calling the Warren Lions Club at (814) 726-1381.
Other Activities
Most recently the Warren Lions Club assisted the local chapter of Toys for Tots in sorting Christmas Gifts and the Warren-Forest Counties Economic Opportunity Council in developing their natural playground. Fundraising, through club and annual White Cane Days, annual Turkey Dinner, and ‘weenie wagon’ appearances at many of Warren’s events, has enabled the Club to continue their support of these many programs.
