Rubbish Collection - Waipu
Members of the Waipu Lions Club were out in force today doing a rubbish collection along South Road from the village to Glenmorh Road.
We had 17 helpers and collected 25 bags of rubbish over 6 kms of roadside ditches and culverts.
Didn't take long but we got a lot done!

Lions Fellowship dinner meeting tonight, we were proud to present Lion Gavin Sim (Centre, first picture) with his 20 year service badge. Thank you Gavin for your years of service to the local community and thank you Lion Morris Somner who introduced Gavin to the club. Then the club was presented with District Governor's Brian McMillan's banner from VDG Ricky Singh.

At our dinner meeting last night we had a guest speaker from HUGS Charitable trust board. They are based in Kerikeri but have a group in Whangarei who support families who have had a loved one take their life via suicide. Please join their Facebook group if you would like some support.

This is our clubs most favourite day of the year. Serving our community at our annual Seniors Lunch. So much fun, so many happy dinner guests. It is a pleasure to give back to our wonderful community.
