Wadebridge Lions
The Lions Club is an international organisation which aims to raise funds to assist charities and individuals where most needed. This can be to relieve earthquake or typhoon victims in the Philipines or Haiti or nearer to home the flood victims in Somerset. However much of our efforts go to local deserving causes such as the Cornish Air Ambulance, Cornish Hospice, the Scouts & Guides and the Senior Citizens Christmas Dinner.
Our fund-raising efforts so far this year have taken the form of : Johnny Cowling Concert, Male Voice Choir Concert, Wadebridge Beer Festival, Quiz Nights & Party in the Park at Pencarrow. Most of these are annual events and we are hoping to add to these in the future.
The Lions are a friendly, non religious and non political organisations which welcomes new members from all walks of life. If you are interested in becoming a member why not speak to Dave Cornthwaite our membership chairman on 01208 815664 or any of our members. Alternatively come along to one of our meetings which are held on the first Tuesday of every month at the Churchill Bars, Molesworth Street, Wadebridge.
