Vergennes Lions Install a Ramp in March 2024
The Vergennes Area Lions Club has been a member of Lions Club International since 1954 . The Vergennes Area Lions Club was chartered in 1954, sponsored by the neighboring Middlebury Lions Club. The International Association of Lions Clubs logged 20 members into the record book when our club was first established and we currently have over 60 members!
This club meets twice monthly and works year round to provide service to the communities in northern Addison County. We pride ourselves on growing in membership and meeting the needs of our community.Every dollar raised by the Lions goes back in to the community.
Our many projects contribute funds for high school scholarships, eye glasses and hearing aids, ramp installation, food drives, winter fuel needs, and more. The Lions work in partnership with other not for profits including the Vergennes Rotary, American Legion Post # 14, and local food shelf to meet the needs of people of all ages Lions serve because they share a core belief in service to their community.

Satiurday, August 1- Set up and take down of chairs and tables at the John Strong Mansion for the Daughters of the American Revolution State Wide Meeting
Friday, August 7- Helping Middlebury Lions at Addison County Field Days selling food in the grandstand for Demolition Derby
Monday, August 17- Songs and Summertime Fun with residents of Vergennes Grand in Vergennes, Vt 3-4:15 pm.
Saturday, August 22- CAR WASH Fundraiser at Gaines Insurance ( Thanks Scott Gaines. Also assisting Lions at Vergennes Day Chicken Barbeque.
Monday, August 24- Read all about it at Vergennes Grand- Looking throuigh 100 pluys year old newspapers and talking about how life went then and now. 3-4 pm.
Sunday, August 30- Officers Meeting A Look at the year- Waltham Town Hall @ 6:00 pm
Tuesday, September 12- First meeting of the year- 3:15 pm at Bixby Library in Vergennes Vt.
Saturday, September 19th- Helping with cemetery stone care at Prospect Cemetery in Vergennes, Vt 8:00 -12 noon.
Sunday, October 24- Helping with cemetery stone care at the Catholic Cemetery on Green Street in Vergennes, 8 am-12 noon
