ONGOING PROJECTS
The Uniontown Lions Club helps local food banks, soup kitchens, and the Salvation Army *Provided needed equipment and funds for local police and fire departments *Sponsor Drug Awareness and Prevention Programs at local schools *Sponsor Peace Poster Contests at Local Schools *Sponsor Red Cross Blood Drives *Assist Fayette County Association for the Blind with financial contributions, vision screening equipment, and other necessary equipment to assist those who are sight impaired *Coordinated the purchase a new van for Fayette County Association for Blind in conjunction with other Lions Clubs in the County * Sponsor Little League Baseball team at Bailey Park *Recycle thousands of eyeglasses and lenses each year *Provide vision screening and eyeglasses for sight impaired children and adults *Donated the School of Champions Sign at Uniontown High School* Erected the welcome sign on Route 40 West *Constructed and maintain the Marshall Fountain Park *Award annual scholarships to graduating area seniors through the Thomas M. Dolfi Memorial Scholarship Fund, to date, the amount exceeds $72,000. * Provided numerous types of necessary care and essentials to children *In partnership with the Fayette County Habitat and Lions Club International Foundation, we built a Habitat home for a handicapped individual *Conduct White Cane Day Activities to assist blind and visually impaired *Sponsored flag at the Fayette County WWII Memorial at the Courthouse ? Assisted a youth with Spina Bifida to obtain a new wheelchair, computer, bedroom furniture, living room furniture, and handicap accessible bathroom *Progressive Model Club for CSFII with $800.00 per member donation *Americanism Day Parade float and financial contributor * Contributed towards Fireman's Memorial *Contributed towards Police Memorial * Contributed to install Braille signs at Uniontown High School *Conduct Broom Sales * Sponsored new Campus Club *California University of PA Lions Club *Sponsor Dollars for $cholars Golf Scramble - Mid Summer *Sell Entertainment Book Sale *August through October - Sell Koeze Nut Sale *October through December *Sponsor Bus trips (NYC Shopping, Pittsburgh Pirates Games, etc.)
