PROJECTS OF TRIVANDRUM IMPACT LIONS CLUB
FOR THE YEAR 2019-20
Vision Screening
We have conducted 30 vision screening camps so far. We have conducted 36 camps for kids vision screening also.
Diabetes camps
We have conducted 41 Diabetes camps so far. A total number 5032 persons were screened.
Environment protection
We have donated 400 medicinal tree saplings to Christ Nagar School, Maranalloor on 27th of September 2019.
Relieving Hunger programme
We have done ten days relieving hunger programme. A total number of 4875 persons were benefitted.
Childhood Cancer
An amount of Rs.12000/- was given under childhood cancer scheme to the District Chairperson. In addition to this, we have donated Rs.6000/- to a cancer patient also.
Reading Action programme.
We have undertaken Reading Action Programme in three schools so far. 15 Times of India news paper to VHSS Thiruvallam for one year, 5 Kerala koumudi News paper for one year to Govt HSS Kachani, 5 Kerala koumudi news paper for one year to Govt VHSS, Karakulam.
Edu care programme
We have sponsored Rs.3000/- each to three students under Educare programme during this period.
Other Health service activities
We have conducted a mega medical camp on 11.08.19 at Karakulam consisting of Modern medicine, Ayurveda medicine and Homoe Medicine. A total number of 152 persons were screened in the camp. This camp was headed by Doctors of our club viz PMJF Lion Dr.T A Vasu, PMJF Lion Dr K Shylaja Vasu, MJF Lion Dr.N.Viswanathan.
Apart from this, we have conducted two more camps consisting of Ayurveda and Homoeo medicines and Maranalloor and Kuttichal. Free medicines were supplied also.
Sight for Kids
Under SFK programme, we have identified 26 teachers from 16 schools and their training have been completed. We are waiting for the next step in this regard. 9316 students were screened.
COVID 19 PROJECTS
During this COVID 19 situation, Trivandrum Impact Lions Club have conducted 21 projects benefitting 6821 persons.
Awareness programmes.
During our medical camps, we have conducted awareness about lifestyle deceases by eminent doctors of the sponsor hospitals and also by our eminent lion leaders Dr.T.A Vasu, Dr.K.Shylaja and Dr.N.Viswanathan.
Assistance to individuals.
We have donated a wheel chair to a physically handicapped lady as I reported earlier. Apart from this, we have given three bicycles under women empowerment programme. (one on the Cabinet installation day and two along with Onam kit distribution at Medical College Hospital Tvm). A sewing machine was also donated to a needy lady on the eve of cabinet installation under women empowerment programme.
Our Leos have donated study materials to the inmates and relatives of ARC, Medical College Hospital under youth empowerment programme.
We have given bedsheets to the inmates of Ananda Nilayam Orphanage, Kuriathi on Gandhi Jayanthi.
Cyber safety programme
As the District Chairperson, cyber safety, Impact Club Secretary has taken 6 cyber safety awareness classes in schools so far as invited by the clubs.
Onam kit distribution
We have donated 100 onam kits to the inmates of ARC, Medical College Hospital and 50 onam kits through DC Onam kits.
Independence Day
We have celeberated Independence day with the children of NSS High School, Palkulangara.
In total we have conducted 276 activities so far benefitting 193420 persons.
A Face book page namely “Trivandrum Impact Lions Club” was started this year.
We have two Whatsapp groups. One for the whole members and the other for the DB members.
It is very happy to say that our functions are carried out observing green protocol.
It is also happy to announce that all our members have participated in our projects have worn service jackets as directed by the District.
