Meetings

Since its Charter, December 6th, 1991 the Club has continued to assert itself as one of the leading Lions Clubs in Multiple District A, winning District contests for Best Club Award ,Model Club Award, Club Excellence Award and Global Causes Impact Award.

Membership: Our Club consists of  30 members(3life members) of various ethnic background  and Toronto Kaiteur Leo Club with 13 Leos( school based).

Service: Over the 32 years of its existence Toronto kaiteur Lions Club has donated significantly in dollars and volunteer hours to community service activities in Toronto,Guyana and globally.Projects include bringing patients from Guyana to Toronto for urgent life-saving medical treatment;assiting families ,sharing food hampers and feeding the homeless in Greater Toronto Area; finanicial donations for global disaster areas ; involved in 'Meals on Wheels',Scarborough support services -  200 meals are delivered monthly to seniors and disabled residents in our community, annual Christmas party for residents of HR Lawson Children's Respite Home, Collection & Recycling of eyeglasses.

Achievement: Several members of the Club have been recognized for their outstanding humanitarian service. Lions Teddy Boyce, Leyland Muss, A.P. Sukhai, Gerald Barran, Roland Carryl, Martin Bowen, Anand Rupnarain, Ebrahim Washington, Rene Bayley, Jim Carrega, Sayeed Rayman, Rudy Misir,David Chan and Verona Payne were awarded  'Melvin Jones Fellow' for dedicated humanitarian services, the highest award a club can bestow on its members. Charter members Teddy Boyce, Roland Carryl , Anand Rupnarian and Martin Bowen have also been honoured with ' Judge Brian Stevenson Award', while Past President Zaheer McDoom is the only member awarded 'The Helen Keller Award'.
