The Tolland Lions Club is very pleased to announce that Mary Hoskin has been recognized as the Tolland Citizen of the Year for 2023. Mary has volunteered continuously since coming to Tolland in 1986. She started as a room-parent and soccer coach, then spent sixteen years working with the High School musical productions designing and building sets and acting as technical director. Mary also served on the Tolland Historical Commission and worked for many years on the Victorian Lantern Tours as a writer, actor and technical director, as well as, helping the Tolland Youth Service Community Theater with their summer productions.

Mary joined the board of the Arts of Tolland in 1997 and has been its President since 2005. She continues to serve enthusiastically organizing and working on their many annual events; Art Shows, Concerts and Craft Fairs. She recently oversaw new lighting installed, floors refinished, and helps maintain the gardens at the Art Center building in town. In addition to her artistic talents, Mary has volunteered for twenty five years with our town elections, counting absentee ballots and working at the polls. As a life long volunteer Mary Hoskin is a very deserving recipient of the Tolland Lions Club’s Citizen of the Year Award.
