Lion Past President Bernie Ferracane and Immediate Past President of the Lions Club of The Islips, past away on April 17, 2020 from cancer at the age of 77 while in hospice care in Northport. He fought valiant battle against this disease. Lion Bernie was born on October 24, 1943 and is survived by his lovely wife Guye. They celebrated 53 years of marriage on March 18, 2020. According to his wishes, he will be cremated and a burial will take place in the future at the VA cemetry in Calverton. Unfortunately, because of the corona virus, a memorial for Lion Bernie  will have to take place sometime in the future. At that time a Lions service will also be held. At the request of his wife Guye, in lieu of flowers, she would like a donation be made in his name to the "Guide Dog Foundationfor the Blind"@ 371 East Jericho Turnpike, Smithtown, NY 11787. The telephone number there is 631-930-9000.

We will miss his smile, kindnesses and all the great things he did for our Lions Club, the community and those who are blind. MAY HE REST IN PEACE
