Press Release for 2020 Truck Donation

Tainan City, Taiwan, December 24, 2020 - Tainan Phoenix Lions Club, club number 041752 of District MD-300, Sub-District 300-D1 will donate a command/rescue truck to the Fire Department of the City of Tainan. This announcement comes at a time that the City of Tainan’s resources are taxed with its efforts to cope with the COVID-19 pandemic. While the various Lions club throughout Taiwan are contributing in their own way. The donation of this vehicle to the City is a sole effort by the Phoenix Club 041752 with contributions from its members.  

The Tainan Phoenix Lions have been active in the community it serves and has made similar donations of ambulances,  various service vehicles, equipment, food, and items in need to the City of Tainan and various charities in the past to meet the needs of its fellow citizens.  

“We feel a deep sense of responsibility to serve our local communities where so many of our Lion brothers and sisters work and live,” said Chen Jin Zhu 陳錦珠, President of the Tainan Phoenix Club. “Like our brothers and sisters worldwide, we are answering the call to action during this time of crisis and every member of our club is doing his/her part in meeting the challenge COVID-19 presents.”

The City of Tainan’s Fire Department will take possession of the command/rescue vehicle from Ms. Chen during a formal ceremony 11 A.M. December 24, 2020 at the Tainan City Hall.
