We received our Charter in December of 2009, and are a "new" club in our community.
Our members are a wonderful mix of men and women, youth and 'experienced', singles and families. We share a core belief - that we will have fun together helping our community become its best. We help where help is needed and we are able. In short, We Serve.
Here are some of the things our club has done
- Collected, counted and sorted hundreds of pairs of used eyeglasses
- Collected and recycled hundreds of used computer printer cartridges
- Operated numerous BBQ fund raisers every other week at a local food store
- Conduct a Tree of Light fund raising project each November, and have purchased an Opthalmology Chair for the Strathroy Middlesex General Hospital
- Refurbished park equipment by sanding and adding a new coat of paint
- Purchased a new gas stove for the Strathroy and Area Seniors' Centre
- Helped refurbish campers' cabins at Lions Camp Dorset
- Operate an annual "Back to School Shopping Spree" Gift Card draw (Giant Tiger gift cards)
- Made donations of money and time to: Upper Deck Youth Centre, Canadian Diabetes Association, Scouts Canada Strathroy troop, Lions Camp Dorset, Eyesright, Strathroy Salvation Army, Middlesex Childrens' Services Network, V.O.N., Sick Kids Foundation, Victim Services Middlesex, Colborne Street School, Heart and Stroke Foundation, District A-1 Youth Exchange, Lions Foundation of Canada Dog Guides, Lake Joseph Camp, District A-1 Lake Joseph Transportation
