The club is currently providing emergency information scheme called Message in your Wallet.
This consists of a credit card sized clear plastic slip case in which is kept a card which can contain all the in formation that you would wish to be available to any of the emergency services if you were involved in an accident.This can be drugs that you are taking, allergies,next of kin,dependent individuals,doctor etc.
The slip case can be kept in your wallet or the glove box of the car or anywhere that the emergency services will be able to find it. A Green label is included with the kit to stick on the outside of wherever the slip case is placed.
These are given away free.and currently around 7,000 have been distributed.
We also promote the Message in Bottle scheme.This is very similar to the one above but the information you wish to be available for the emergency services is on a form held in a plastic bottle which is ideally placed in your fridge.Two green labels are available one for outside the fridge(to show where to look) and one for the inside of the front door (to show that information is available.
These are also available free of charge
Stoke On Trent Lions Club Have now formed a bond with North staffs Carers association are supporting them in a variety of events the first of which will be to take young carers to Cannock Chase.
We have also provided a new strip for Hanley youth football team.
Our local Air cadets are involved in Lions Young Leaders in Service.
We are getting popular with other organisations running race nights for them.
Royal Stoke Hospital Children's A & E are giving distraut children Lions Teddies on behalf of Stoke Lions.
Along with other Lions Clubs in the area we are involved in running a day at Waterworld for children from Staffordshire Special Schools. We also organize a day at Foxfield railway for families of children with special needs.
