Loving father to Greg, Jeff (Dianne) and Barb (Jerry). Proud Papa to grandchildren Brandon, Chantel, Hannah, Ben and Jackson, and great-grandchildren Brooklyn, Ciara, Nathan, Naiya and Nash.
In his twenties, Marvin left the Caledonia, ON family farm to work in the HVAC trade. After marrying his sweetheart Carol in 1962, he completed 14 years of night school to further his education and began working at the Burtch Correctional Center, Ministry of Correctional Services, where he enjoyed a 28-year career before retiring as Chief Stationary Engineer.
Affectionately known by many as "Joe", Marvin was a true handyman. There wasn't anything he couldn't fix, and there wasn't anyone he wouldn't help, anytime, anywhere. Word in the community was "If you need something fixed, you call Joe".
Marvin was also a skilled hobby woodworker with an impressive portfolio of projects to his credit. In recent years he made dozens of beautiful hardwood cremation boxes for family and friends to cherish, and took great pride in knowing that his skills were appreciated.

Three weeks before his passing at the age of 87, he was still playing the saxophone in the TCMS Concert Band. He was also an active long-standing member of the St. George Lions Club. For nearly six decades, Marvin and his wife Carol traveled annually to her hometown of Fredericton, NB to visit family. In retirement, they spent 20 years wintering in Myrtle Beach, SC, creating countless wonderful memories with many great friends.
Marvin was loved and respected by those who knew him, and will be dearly missed.
