We have just received notification from our MD24 leader, Lion  Carol Byers, that Lions of Virginia strongly recommends that all VA Lions Clubs cancel all activities and meetings until May 1 when a further health evaluation will occur.  As a result, members of the  Board met and decided to follow this recommendation.  As a result, we will not hold March or April 2020 General Meetings.

Our fundraiser, Trivia Night, is postponed until after the current public health issues are resolvedWe will reach out to all sponsors to ensure they still want to maintain their sponsorship for the new date when decided.

Information will be forthcoming concerning the nominations and voting for a new board of officers.

In 1925 Helen Keller challenged the Lions to be her "Knights for the sight and hearing Impaired" The Lions accepted Helen Keller's challenge and for the last 89 years have been finding new innovated ways to meet her challenge. When you see Lions out collecting donations like in the picture above during our clubs White Cane collection and Trivia Night, April 25, 2020, know that 100% of monies collected from these public fundraisers goes back out into the community to support the mission of Lions.
Our club supports two Leo Clubs, one at Colonial Forge High School and one at Stafford Middle School, working with the youth to be leaders in the Community and support their Community Service projects. Donations are also made with the monies collected to Mary Washington Healthcare, Kids for a Cure Club day camp and St. Jude's Children Hospital. We provide monies to help those that can not afford eye glasses to get eye exams and glasses. We also use the monies to purchase equipment and pay for the maintenance and upkeep of the equipment like the Spot Vision screener and the audiometer pictured above to check the sight and hearing of school and preschool age children.
