Lions Club of St. John Diabetes Project
The Lion’s Club and the Grenada Diabetes Association will work together on a diabetes project that will target the following beneficiary groups:

Persons living with Diabetes

Caregivers of persons affected by diabetes and diabetic retinopathy

Educational Institutions
-
General Public
Implementing interventions will be to:
-
Enhance awareness of diabetes in the community of St. John and St. Mark in collaboration with the Grenada Diabetic Association.

Sensitize members of the public on diabetes prevention, screening and care, through the provision of educational materials
-
Partner with local eye care professionals to provide a wide variety of screenings including early childhood and school age vision screenings.

Augment the capacity of caregivers (50 targeted caregivers) on providing care in respect of diabetic feet care/therapy and nutrition counselling.

Provide ten (10) persons affected by diabetic retinopathy with medical care
-
Heighten awareness on the correlation between diabetes and vision impairment/ ocular diseases that can cause blindness if left untreated.
