The Lions Club St. Andrew’s was chartered on August 25,1971. The first President was Mr Jerome Penny from Birch Grove St. Andrew’s.
The first group of LIONS were all men as was the case in early times. This group was a rich mix of many professionals and was made up of Lawyers, Doctors,Businessmen, Principal, Farmers and Mechanic.
The early pioneers laid a solid foundation which allow for the continuation of the club since 1971. We have had three Zone Chairpersons rising from our Club and one Region Chairman thus far.
One of our Presidents received the International President Award for Service Excellence in 2002-2003 Lionistic year.
