On September 19, 2009 the Skidmore-Tynan Lions hosted their twentieth Punt, Pass and Kick competition on the Skidmore-Tynan ISD Football field.
When the Skidmore-Tynan Lions organized in 1990, one of our Charter Members was the Head Coach of the school district, Ron Heitke and when the possibility of the Lions sponsoring the Punt, Pass and Kick competition, the coach stepped up and carried the ball for the Lions. Since that time, the "Punt, Pass and Kick" torch has been passed from one Head Coach to another.
Over these past twenty years the Skidmore-Tynan ISD and it's Athletic Department has made this particular competition possible. Not only do the coaching staff come out and prepare the field but some of the Cats football players come out and assist where they can as well.
This year we had some forty plus children participate. The competition is open to boys and girls ages 7, 8, 9 10, 11 and 12. Trophies are presented to those children who place First thru Third. These trophies are usually presented at a home football game.
We are hoping that this continues to grow and we would like to thank the Skidmore-Tynan ISD and it's coaching staff for the wonderful support that we have received over the past twenty years and pray that that support will continue.
Thanks S-T ISD and coaching staff and players.
