History of Sioux Land Lions

Sioux Falls Downtown Lions sponsored and organized the Sioux Land Lions Club in March 28, 1958.  There were 50 members when the club was founded and the late PID Al Schock was International director at the time.

Over the years, this club enjoyed golf outings, sponsored softball teams, constructed a dock at the YMCA Camp at Big Stone Lake and sold Christmas Trees.  The Club raised $6,000 for the flood in Rapid City.

Sioux Land chartered the Siouxrise Lions in 1970. They also helped to re-charter the Harrisburg Lions in 1986.

Today we have 24 members. Our club focuses on Lions global causes-Childhood Cancer, Diabetes, Environment, Hunger and Vision. Our Global Causes | Lions Clubs International
