Club Projects

Recycling Plastic Film to eliminate it from going to the landfill.  The collected plastic film goes to our recycler who sends our Lions Club a composite bench for every 1,000 pounds received.  We have donated three benches in the Sioux Falls Community so far.

Sioux Empire Lions have started a puzzle exchange where we are taking 300 - 550 piece puzzles to Trail Ridge, Sunnycrest Retirement Village, Good Samitarian Society - The Lodge, and Prince of Peace senior centers at no charge, so that individuals have a new variety of puzzles to choose from.

Sioux Falls Lions sponsored and cleaned up Elmwood Park for the "Big Sioux River Clean-up".  We had a great turn out of volunteers from the American Legion, Amazon, and the general public.

Members of our club have assisted with the vision screenings in the Sioux Falls Elementary Schools, Garretson Elementary School, West Central Humboldt Elementary, Hartford Elementary School, Harrisburg Elementary Schools, and in several Preschools in the City of Sioux Falls.

We serve meals at the Banquet and Bishop Dudley Hospitility House in Sioux Falls, as well as, donate, package, and distribute food at Charis Ministry Locations in Sioux Falls.

Through fundraising and donated gift cards we have purchased 44 hats and pairs of gloves to give to area schools for those in need of cold weather apparel.  We also have purchased 250 - 300 gifts and books to donate to Hayward Elementary School and George McGovern Middle Schools for the Holidays to ensure several students will have a brighter Holiday Season.
