HOW WE DO IT

FUNDRAISING  projects are a "Must" if Lions clubs wish to effectively sponsor humanitarian services within their communities.  Successful projects not only provide funds to carry out charitable activities, they also can provide an excellent opportunity for the community to gather socially and offer fellowship opportunities among our Club's members.

Sight Projects

     Collects used eyeglasses for recycling and distribution to under privileged in California and other  countries.

      Underwrites Eye exams and glasses for Silver Lakes/Helendale children and adults who are unable to pay for these services.

Guide Dogs of the Desert

      Annual donation to Canine training center at Whitewater, CA.

Scholarships

      Annual golf Tournament to award Scholarships of $500.00 to $1000.00 to Helendale students so that they may  pursue higher education in the undergraduate or vocational school of their choice.

Teresita Pines/ youth Exchange

     Provide Host families for Foreign Exchange students, and makes an annual donation to Teresita Pines camp.

City of Hope/ Diabetes Awareness   

     Annual donation to the Diabetes awareness program

      Every 4th of July we sell  Glow Sticks at the community park to raise funds, in addition to our annual donation to City of Hope .

Other Fundraising Events

1. Provide food for the Mojave River Trail days( 2days-breakfast & lunch)

2. Provide breakfast & lunch to the Silver Lakes Arts & Crafts Fair

3. Pancake breakfast for special emergencies

4, Sell Donuts at the Christmas Parade

5. Sell snacks at the Halloween Trunk or Treat

6. Sell food at the Lions Races twice a year.

7. Wine Tasting
