  • This October (2024), the men and women of the Shrewsbury Area Centennial Lions Club celebrates 7 successful years.

  • There are currently 20 members.

  • Meetings are held twice monthly at Paul Smith Library, 80 Constitution Ave. 1st Monday at 7:00-8:00 PM and 3rd Tuesday 12:00-1:00 PM.

  • Members pay club dues of approximately $13 a month for the first year of membership ; then $10 a month thereafter, which cover all administrative costs. This ensures that 100 percent of funds raised go back into serving the needs of the community.

  • Some of our activities include, but are not limited to, Community focused presentations; Easter egg hunt for community residents; annual electronics recycling event; and the newly established Hometown Heroes Banner Program.

  • Multiple fundraising events such as flower sales, sub/sandwich sales, whoopie pie sales, along with various raffles, have allowed the Club to make monetary donation (in addition to time and labor) to support the various community organizations and programs.  Recipients include the Early Childhood Vision Screening program, Paul Smith Library of Southern York County, Southern York County Food Pantry, New Life for Woman & Children of Glen Rock, Strasburg Haus Apartments residents at SpiriTrust Lutheran, YMCA of the Roses, Leader Dogs for the Blind, Quilts for Kids, and Lions Club International Foundation.

  • Through contributions to the Lions Club International Foundation (LCIF), members support our five global causes: diabetes, vision, hunger, environment, and childhood cancer. LCIF also contributes to humanitarian aid, disaster relief, and youth needs.
