If you’re interested in volunteering, leading projects, networking and having fun – you can do all of this and more as a Lions club member. As a Lion, you’ll perform local volunteer work to improve your community – and communities around the world.

Benefits of Being a Lion:

  • Personal Satisfaction in service to others
  • Networking with people who make things happen
  • Social Interaction with others who care
  • New Circle of Frieends
  • Self Improvement through exercising leadership in Club Work

WHAT COSTS/TIME ARE INVOLVED?

Lion membership requires a modest investment as compared to other organizations.  There is a one time enrollment fee of $25.00 when you join, and annual dues are currently $72.00 per year.  Members pay in advance, either annually or semiannually.  Of this amount, $41.00 goes to Lions International, and covers your subscription to the Lions Magazine and organization administrative expenses.  Multiple District (state) dues of $11.50 cover state convention, Kansas Lions News, maintaining a state office, and youth service projects.  District dues of $3.50 cover district convention, supplement to District Governor’s expense, and other administrative expenses. The balance of dues are used for club administration.

A family membership plan is available for multiple members from the same household.  Dues as stated above apply to the first member, while up to four more members can join without the $25.00 enrollment fee, and will pay ½ dues in the amount of $36.00 per year

The club holds business meetings on the first Wednesday of each month.  Program meetings are held on the third Wednesday at Power Play.  Social time begins at 6:30, with dinner and visiting.  Programs and business begin at 7:00.  Meetings usually end by 8:00-8:15.  Service projects and committee meetings are scheduled as announced.

While all members are encouraged to make all meetings, a 100% attendance record can be achieved by taking part in two Lion activities each month.  Missed meetings can be made up by visiting another club, attending a state, district or zone meeting, or taking part in a service activity
