Lions club of Serampore is a unit of Lions Clubs International founded in the year 1969 with a sole aim of service to the needy brethren of the community. During the last 45 years with the generous support and International guidance we have been able to further the cause of education by constructing our own DEN, Surya Narayan Saha Memorial Lions Medicare Centre,Konnagar , running Eye, Dental, Hoemeo and other clinics, giving free furniture, teaching aids, books and scholarship etc. to several schools of our area.
Our ignature Projects:
1. ENVIRONMENTAL FRIENDS : Tree Plantations, Volleyball Coaching & Childrn Park.
2. NETRA SURAKSHA : Eye Screening, Eye Cataract operation
( IOL), Screening, Dental Clinic. We are concentrating on the eradication of blindness by taking up programme of Free Eye Operations throughtout the year in Lions Hospitals. We have two clinics, One at Medicare center Konnagar, & other at Lion K B Kuri's residence at Mallickpara, Serampore.
3. Lions Medicare Centre: Our Lion Den. Here we do free Allopathic Dept. Homeopathy Dept.,ECG checkup, Diabetic Checkup, Eye Screening, Dental Clinic.
4.Homeo Dispensery: At Jagganathpur, Satghara villages & at Medicare Center
5. Dental Clinic: At Medicare Center, Konnagar
Other Activities
Include organising Blood Donation camps, Child Imminisation Camps, Cardiac & Diabatic Checkup camps, Diabatic awairness camps, Baby Health Show in village. Oxygen Bank, Health Check up camps. Thelasaemia detection camp etc.
