DREAMS AND WISHES PROJECT

For over 25 years, our Holiday Project has been a beacon of hope, providing cherished holiday experiences in Tenerife for critically ill and needy children from the UK. This incredible work has only been possible thanks to the unwavering generosity of the Tenerife local community, our wonderful tourists, and dedicated fundraisers in the children’s home areas. You have helped create priceless memories for children during incredibly challenging times.
Today, we are thrilled to announce a significant and exciting update to this vital project.
Your support is the key to this new chapter. The children we help, like those in the stories we share, rely on the compassion of our community.
In 2026, we are expanding our mission. To reach more children and fulfil more dreams, the Lions Club San Miguel is forming a powerful new partnership with Make-A-Wish® UK.
Make-A-Wish® is a world-renowned international organisation with the expertise to identify eligible children and orchestrate the fulfilment of their deepest wishes. This partnership allows us to broaden our scope beyond holidays. While necessary therapeutic breaks will always be part of our mission, we can now help grant a wider spectrum of a child’s dream.
Together, with your continued support, we will be able to:
Provide necessary holiday breaks for health and wellbeing.
-
Arrange meetings with a favourite film or TV star.
-
Create a dream shopping trip or a special day as a “hero.”
-
Grant a unique wish that ignites a child’s joy and courage.
When a child faces critical illness or severe need, a single wish can be a turning point—a source of strength and happiness. Our renewed mission is to make these life-changing dreams a reality.
By standing with us, you ensure that the Lions Club San Miguel can continue and expand this vital work, bringing light and joy to more children when they need it most.
Thank you for your past, present, and future support. Let’s make more dreams come true.
