In the year 1996, LionsNabEyeHospital, Miraj opened a centre at Sangli to fulfil the needs of preventible blindness of poor & needy patients in & around Sangli. After three years i.e. in the year 1999, Lions Club of Sangli-City was entrusted the whole responsibility of this centre. Club has registered Lions Club Care Foundation Charitable Trust Sangli. That was the beginning of our eye hospital. Within a span of eleven years, the hospital achieved remarkable progress.
The hospital has purchased two well equipped vehicles to bring & reach the patients from Sangli & around District. Apart from the eye surgeries, these patients are provided free meals, breakfast, medicines, goggles etc. & sent back to their destinations on the next day. Nearly 75% operations are performed free of cost.

Shrimant Vijaysinhraje Patwardhan of Sangli observed our selfless & dedicated work & in order to encourage the activity, donated 40000 Sq.ft. of land in the heart of city - Ghanshyam Nagar, Madhavnagar Road, Sangli. Present market value of the land itself is around INR 1,50,00,000/-. The Project Cost is estimated INR 3,00,00,000/-. The Trust has already spent INR 85,00,000/- on construction. The ground floor of the new building is complete and providing services to poor & needy patients. We would highly appreciate & encouraged if we receive donation to expand the area of our services. Any donation, small or big is highly valued for this noble cause.
For the generous donors, throughout their life, we would offer our services of eye checkup, operations etc. free of cost to their family and every year a person recommended by the donor will be treated as per the schemes framed by the Hospital.
We request you humbly to donate generously to this noble cause & help the humanitarian work to show the light of the day to the patients who are needlessly blind. In India Donation given to this Trust are exempted as per Income Tax Act 1961 u/s 80-G-1836.
