The application can be downloaded, but still needs to taken to the student's guidance office for attachement of the most current transcript. Questions regarding the process should be addressed by the schools scholarship coordinator.
Sandwich-Bourne Lions Club Scholarship Program
The purpose of this program is to reward students from the local high schools who are in need of financial assistance to further their education. As of the 2025-2026 Lionistic year, four $750 scholarships have been established: one each to Sandwich and Bourne High Schools, and two to the Upper Cape Regional Vocational High School. At the vocational school one scholarship will be awarded to a Bourne resident, and one to a Sandwich resident. The latter scholarships may be used for tools of the trade, depending on the student’s educational and vocational plans.
In reviewing the student applications, equal consideration will be given to scholarship, community service, and financial need. At all three high schools the applications will be collected and then reviewed by the Clubs Scholarship Committee, No student will be selected unless they have been reviewed and approved by at least, two members of the committee. The Club President will appoint members of the scholarship committee.
At all the schools, preference will be given to students who have volunteered for Lions events, and the children and grandchildren of current, active Sandwich-Bourne Lions. Consideration of other relationships will be addressed on a case by case basis by members of the Club’s Scholarship Committee.
Currently, there is no process in place to consider students who have been enrolled in private schools of any type. These situations will be addressed on a case by case basis by the membership of the Club.
