Lion Ken Harvey

Ken was a 58-year member of the San Diego Peninsula Lions Club and received the prestigious "Melvin Jones Award."
Kenneth Morley Harvey February 17, 1924 - April 3, 2017 Point Loma - Heaven just got funnier when Ken entered God's kingdom. The son of Thomas and Evelyn Harvey, Ken had an older brother Howard and younger sisters Gwen and Jennifer. Ken grew up in Ocean Beach, attending O.B. Elementary then Point Loma Junior and Senior High. Ken graduated in 1942,
In 1943 he entered the Army where he became a Heavy Machine Gunner with the 75th Infantry Division. Ken fought in the Battle of the Bulge, which was one of the fiercest battles in military history.
After the War Ken briefly attended San Diego State before heading to Elkhart, Indiana, to work in the musical instrument business. It was there that he met the love of his life Margaret. They were Married Dec. 3, 1948. Theymoved back to Ocean Beach where their sons Jim and Doug were born. Ken worked at Convair and Western Publishing before joining with Margaret to start up K&M Harvey Residential Rentals.
Ken loved coaching Jim in baseball, both he and Margaret made lifelong friends at the ball fields in O.B and P.L. Ken played the piano and was extremely proud of how talented and accomplished Doug was as a pianist.
Later years were spent enjoying the grandchildren's activities and family gatherings.
