Meetings

Rye Lions Charter was granted on February 21, 1957.  A dinner program was hosted at Yokens Restaurant on March 2, 1957 with 77 initial charter members lead by the first president, (King Lion) Frederick A. Champion.  The Rye Lions Club was the 62nd club to be chartered in New Hampshire.

Over these nearly 70 years in operation, the Rye Lions Club has continually supported the community financially and socially with many programs including vision screening for young children in the schools (OKS), lending medical equipment after surgery or injury, and providing access to sight and hearing equipment.  Rye Lions awards scholarships to graduating high school students from Rye, donates to many local and national charities and events, collects used eyeglasses for recycling, and participates in service projects throughout our community.
