๐Ÿฆ Lions Club of Rowlett: Serving With Heart

๐ŸŒŸ Who We Are

We are a passionate group of volunteers committed to serving the Rowlett community with vision, compassion, and action. As part of Lions Clubs International, we uphold a proud tradition of service—locally and globally.

๐Ÿฅซ Fighting Food Insecurity

Neighbors Helping Neighbors.

Food insecurity affects families right here in Rowlett. We partner with local organizations and food stores  to:

Host seasonal food drives during high-need times like holidays and school breaks

  • Collect and distribute food items year round.

Each cart of food we distributeis  more than just a meal—it’s a message of care from our community to those who need it most.

๐Ÿ‘“ Restoring Vision, Empowering Lives

Because everyone deserves to see the world clearly.

Through our vision initiatives, we:

  • Provide free eye screenings for children and seniors by hosting the Lions Sight and Tissue Foundation mobile eye clinic twice a year.

  • Assist with access to eyeglasses for residents in need

Our volunteers work closely with schools, clinics, and partners to help Rowlett residents see a brighter future.

๐Ÿงน Keeping Rowlett Beautiful—Together

Partnering with Keep Rowlett Beautiful to clean up Rowlett Road.

Four times a year, we roll up our sleeves and get to work:

  • Removing litter and debris along Rowlett Road

  • Promoting civic pride through community beautification

  • Encouraging environmental stewardship with hands-on service

These cleanup events reflect our shared commitment to keeping our city vibrant, welcoming, and proud.

๐Ÿ“ Meetings held the second Monday of the month at 6:30 p.m. at Tokyo Hana, 9900 Lakeview Parkway, Rowlett, Texas 75088.

Thank you for visiting the Rowlett Lions Club website for the month of August, 2025. Our Club membership is at seventeen and we continue to get many queries about joining.

We have been fortunate this year in our fund raising efforts. We have been able to provide many worthy charities with significant contributions. We recently donated $10,000.00 to help the people affected by the flooding in Kerrville. Every quarter we donate to the Lions Camp for Special Needs children in Kerrville, Texas, the First Christian Church Hope in Hand Food Pantry in Rowlett, Texas, St. Vincent de Paul at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Rowlett, Rowlett Needy Children's, Kids Who Rock, and local Boy Scout troops. We are here to serve. Our motto is WE SERVE. You are welcome to contact us and see how you can help us serve the community.

If you think you would like to give back to the community by being part of this wonderful service organization, but want to learn more about Lions, or would like to attend a meeting to see what goes on, please contact us.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Please visit our Facebook page Lions Club Rowlett.

Sincerely,

Tamra Williams

Vice-President
