ABOUT US - or "LIFE WITH THE LIONS"
What We Do
Our Club is dedicated to improving the quality of life for the less fortunate in our community. The Lions motto is "We Serve".
We aim to provide service, assistance and funds for those in need. This may be done through practical ‘hands on’ or financial assistance or by supporting and working with other local charitable organisations who benefit the public at large. Some of these have included SERV the out of hours blood transport service, Romsey Leonard Cheshire Home, Naomi House and Jacksplace Hospice, Marie Curie, Romsey Young Carers and giving support to the Waterside and Romsey Food Banks.
We have also made donations to assist needy people in Romsey and surrounding districts, and we raise money to give disadvantaged children and their carers a day out at the Paultons Park and Peppa Pig theme park each year.
Please visit our page of Charitable Contributions to see who we have helped in recent times.
Throughout the year, supported by partners and friends, we run a variety of fundraising events and activities. These include our very popular monthly bookstall in Romsey Cornmarket, street collections twice a year, fashion shows, participating in local fairs where our keybox game draws in the crowds, and organising giant Easter egg raffles at local pubs and clubs, to name but a few. These are great social occasions and are thoroughly enjoyed by all who take part. We also run a full social programme for our members and partners.
We do not charge for administrative costs when running fundraising events, being one of the few organisations where all profits go to the cause being supported.
Our Roots
