Eyeglass Donations

Eyeglass recycling is one of the Lions' most popular activities. Although the program was officially adopted by the association in 1994, Lions have been collecting glasses for more than 85 years.

Recycling donation boxes are located throughout the Rochester region.  Many are at local optometrists' and opthalmologists' offices.  A collection box is also located at the main Rochester Library location. You can also donate eyeglasses at any Walmart with vision centers (e.g., the Henrietta location).

Hearing Aid Assistance

Through the Affordable Hearing Aid Project, Lions are reaching hearing-impaired people of limited income in communities across the United States. AHAP’s continuum of care model involves providing high-quality, low-cost hearing aids as well as services of hearing care professionals to conduct tests, fit the aids and provide follow-up care. Since 2009, 768 hearing aids have been provided to people who otherwise could not afford them.

To be considered for the Lions Affordable Hearing Aid Project, send an e-mail to RochesterLions@gmail.com or call 585 420 8511.
