Lions Park
|
This project, in conjunction with Town Board, Boy Scouts, and other groups, established a community space for Lions and other public activities to be conducted in professionally designed and developed area. Lions Pumpkin Patch, Community Gardens, and park benches have been placed and utilized for public use and enjoyment.

Lions Ambulance Building
|
After forming and incorporating the Pound Ridge Lions Ambulance Corps in April 1966, the Pound Ridge Lions Club began the construction of an emergency medical facility as an ambulance garage as well as a medical resources, training, and meeting place for the ambulance corps equipment and supplies. The building program began in the mid-1970’s and was completed in 1977 with a dedication of the building to the corps in 1981. Photo

Lions Zone Nursing Scholarships
|
This Zone 5 project provides an annual award to a deserving student for their continuing education in Nursing. Pound Ridge Lions Club is a partner with other Zone 5 clubs of District 20R-1 in supporting the youth of our communities in their pursuit of important healthcare skills and capabilities.

Lions Zone Ophthalmologic Microscope for NW Hospital
|
This Zone 5 project was supported the purchase of a surgerical opitical microscope by matching a grant from NY MD-20 Uplinger Fund. Pound Ridge Lions Club was a partner with other Zone 5 clubs in joining this successful community service project.

Talking Books & Low-Vision Products for Library
|
This project provides funding to the Pound Ridge Library to purchase talking books and other assistive products in honor of Edith Waters. She was the first recipient of the Volunteer of the Year award.

Hearing Loops for Public Venue
|
The objective of this project is to provide hearing loops or other assistive technology and products for the hearing impaired. The initial project placed a hearing loop in the town house court, board, and public meeting room. Additional projects may include library, Conant Hall, and other public venues in the community.

Scouting in Community Service
|
This project provided some funding of scouting events related to community service activities and Eagle Scout projects.

Recycling of Eye Glasses
|
For more than 25 years, Eyeglasses, sunglasses, cases, and sometimes hearing aids are collected and sent to a nearby Lions Recycling Center. Collection boxes are located at market, library, and other frequently visited shops in this area. After recycling for repairs and grading and cleaning, these glasses and accessories are sent to developing countries for distribution to those in need. Photo

Benches for Walking Paths
|
Seating benches were installed along the walking/biking path from Town Park to Scott Corners area which placed a bench along the path from the park to the town house, another at the bridge near Fancher Road, and another at the walking path and Lower Shad Road. These benches were dedicated to Lions MJF Robert Fioretti, Charlie George, and Tom Rizzo.

Int'l Student Exchange Program
|
Sponsors annual student exchange program for 9th grade students between Melbourne, Australia and Horace Greeley High School. During 2016 visit, Exchange Students completed a service project by collecting 209 pairs of eyeglasses for Lions Recycle Program. Club will be sponsoring this program for 2017.
