PROJECT HISTORY

  • With Port Pirie Rotary Club, built the Port Pirie Senior Citizens Hall F.O.C.
  • Annual Christmas Cakes and Pudding sales
  • Tree planting beautification on Port Broughton Road/Pelham Road
  • Installed four seats on community streets
  • Installed table and two seats in Memorial Park
  • Provide annual Australia Day breakfast
  • Installed disabled wheelchair swing at Mid North Education Centre
  • Lions Park on Main Road overlooking Port Pirie River and Flinders Ranges
  • Catering at annual Carols evening
  • Collection of used spectacles for third world countries
  • Catering regular barbecues in the community
  • Hosted five Lions District Conventions
  • Donated baby heart monitor to the Port Pirie Regional Hospital.
  • Bi-annual skin cancer van visit.
  • Provided furniture to Chas Robinson Flats.
  • Donated $15,000 to Rosemary Cottage Dementia Unit.
  • Donated $10,000 towards the helipad at the Port Pirie Regional Hospital.
  • Furnished a room at Greenhill Lodge Cancer Council.

FUTURE PROJECTS

In conjunction with students from the John Pirie Secondary School, the Lions Club of Port Pirie is investigating to introduce in Memorial Park the "JPSS/Lions PP Walk of Fame"

Many famous people hace received their education at the John Pire Secondary School and have achieved world wide recognition

Planning is underway to recognise their achievements on a permanent walk way in beautiful Memorial Park
