Meetings

The Pine Area Lions and the Pine City Lions have worked together since 2013  to sponsor a LEOS Club in the Pine City area. This also could not be done without the help of Pine City High School Superintendent Wayne Gilman who was very involved in a LEOS club in Crookston before moving to the Pine City Area.

LEO Club is a non-profit organization found all over the world. The first LEO club was started in 1957, by Lions Club Members Jim Graver and William Ernst at Abington High School in Pennsylvania.

By 1964, the idea had spread all throughout the United States, and LEO Clubs became an official youth program of Lions Clubs International.

Today, there are over 160,000 clubs in 140 different countries.

The LEOS club will  be doing volunteer activities, such as volunteering at the local food shelf, volunteering at the local thrift stores, visiting residents in the nursing homes,  putting on canned food drives, helping out at pancake breakfasts, and doing highway cleanup.

It is our hope that the LEOS will continue serving our community as they consider joining a Lions Club in the future.

The Pine Area Lions and the Pine City Lions are proud to sponsor the LEOS club for Pine City.

LEO youth volunteers pledge to make a difference

Currently we have about 70 Leos! That is awesome. A huge THANK YOU goes out to Lion Becci Palmblade for all of her hard work and dedication to these Leos. Thank you Becci.
