ON-GOING PROJECTS – 2015-16 COLLECTIONS/DONATIONS:
- Used glasses and hearing aids. The used glasses/hearing aids are recycled through LCI and distributed throughout the world. This past Lions' year, the Perryville Lions Club donated 635 pairs of used glasses and 16 hearing aids.
- Used shoes. The Perryville Lions Club donates its collection of used shoes to the Cecilton Lions Club, which coordinates for the Cecil County Lions Clubs. These used shoes are refurbished and distributed throughout the world. This past Lions' year, the Perryville Club donated 101 pairs of shoes and 11 pairs of slippers.
- Nonperishable Food Items. The food items are donated to the Perryville Methodist Church’s Soup Kitchen. This past Lions' year, the Perryville Lions Club donated over 100 food items.
- Can Tabs. The can tabs are donated to the Baltimore Ronald McDonald House’s “Pull Tab Program,” proceeds pay for gasoline to transport families via the organization's shuttle bus. This past Lions' year, the Perryville Lions Club donated 11 ½ lbs pulled tabs.
- Cancelled Stamps. The stamps are donated to the “Stamps for the Wounded” Campaign, which supports wounded U.S. veterans. This past Lions' year, the Perryville Lions Club donated 215 cancelled stamps.
- Box Tops Coupons/Labels for Education. The tops/labels are donated to the local schools for school supplies/equipment and donated to a school in Chamberlain, SD, which supports Native Americans. This past Lions' year, the Perryville Lions Club donated approximately 100 tops/labels.
- Used Printer Cartridges. The used cartridges are turned in for cash reimbursements. The profit for this past Lions' year was approximately $50. This money will be used to serve the Perryville community.
