The Perryville Lions Club will host a special fund-raising event in support of the Tom Park Memorial Splash Pad project Saturday September 10, 2011 immediately following the Perry County Fair parade at the Perryville City Park. The Lions Club is asking for donations to support the building of a splash-pad at the city park in memory of Thomas G Park, a charter member of the Perryville Lions Club and longtime local hero in Perry County. The event will include hot dogs and hamburgers, a dunking-tank, water balloon cannon, a raffle, a silent auction, a slip-and-and slide, musical entertainment by Carrie Jo Frith and Jason Campbell, as well as having a number of local volunteer fire trucks (and firemen) on hand to help with the activities of the day. Look for other surprises throughout the day as well.
After the fair parade, bring your lawn chairs, blankets, and clothing you don’t mind getting wet, with all your friends and family to the Perryville City Park for an afternoon filled with fun, food, family, and friends. Learn more about the splash-pad project and the efforts to add this to the city park. Special thanks to the local merchants who have supported the event in many ways, including peovision of the silent auction items as well as to the Perry County Nursing Center for providing support with the food. The club members will be available to assure that everyone has a great time and has an opportunity to learn more about Tom Park and the splash-pad project as well as general information about the other projects the club is involved in throughout the year. Donations may be made to the Perryville Lions Club at the event or through the mail. Send checks to Perryville Lions Club to P.O. Box 858 Perryville, AR 72126.
