Community Service Activities
During this Lionistic year our club will be very busy completing several community service projects. Again this year we rang bells for Salvation Army on Friday & Saturday December 14 & 15 along with support from Peoria Pioneers.
Our annual Vision & Hearing Screening was held on Sunday February 10th at the WBV Lakes center. Midwestern University doctors provided the vision screening and representatives from Zounds Hearing Aid Co. did the hearing testing. 50 people were vision tested and 20 had their hearing checked.
We held our annual Blood Drive in coordination with the Red Cross on Wednesday February 20th. Despite the weather we had 24 people give blood. Thanks to Lion Tom Kemmerer for leading this event.
We held our fourth annual Flag’s for First Graders event on Thursday November 8th at Parkridge Elementary School. Approximately 125 students enjoyed the program put on my Lions Jeanette and Katie. Another FFG was held Wednesday February 13th at Zuni Hills Elementary. About 80 students participated.
