The Lions Club has been providing food baskets for the past three decades. The project began as an Eagle Scout Project and flourished from there. The purpose for the food basket program is to provide food for children and senior citizens that will not receive breakfast and lunch at school during the two week holiday break.
Our number of families served has ranged from 100 families to 180 families in the past few years. Family applications are submitted to our group by a number of organizations and then reviewed for selection. The purpose for the food basket program is to provide food for children that will not receive breakfast and lunch at school during the two week holiday break.
Each year a number of service organizations and community members provide assistance in a number of ways, such as monetary or food donations and volunteer time.
We always have those who ask what they can donate. This year, we created a "wish list" on Amazon that will help guide your shopping.
