As of May 28, 2022, these are our club's active projects:
- Bobcat Readers. A fun summer reading program for local children. Quality ooks are available to borrow and prizes may be earned for reading them! See our tent at the Pauma Valley Community Center on summer days when the San Diego Food Bank visits.
- Pauma School Garden. The garden is complete! Many thanks to A1 Irrigation and the DIG Corporation for the donation of materials and to the North Coast Community Church for help with the project work.
- Sight services. An ongoing project to provide community members with vision services, eyewear, canes and related products and services. The club also collects used eyewer and hearing aids for refurbishment and return to needy members of our community.
- Road cleanup. The club participates in the CalTrans Adopt-a-Highway program covering a stretch of California 76 in the Pauma Valley. See more here: https://www.valleycenter.com/articles/pauma-lions-sell-and-sort/
- Speech contest. The Lions Club International organization conducts an annual speech contest for local high school students. Our club participates, inviting participants from local high schools. - Peace Poster Contest. The Lions Club International organization conducts an annual peace poster contest for local middle school students. Our club participates, inviting participants from local middle schools.
- Rummage sale fundraiser. The club raises money with a popular rummage sale in the El Rey restaurant parking lot, usually in the spring and the fall each year.
The club routinely identifies new community service needs and launches projects to meet those needs. This list is but a small handful of the activities the club has conducted over its long existence.
